The Monster Makers Monster Clay is a sulfur-free, non-drying, professional oil/wax-based sculpting medium that can be reused and remelted indefinitely. Composed entirely of non-toxic, food-grade components, Monster Clay has an ultra-smooth formulation with a low melt temperature and a low tack feel that won't stick to tools or fingers. Monster Clay has high plasticity and a unique elastic quality much like soft taffy when warm. At average room temperature, Monster Clay is firm enough to capture even the finest details. It melts easily to a pourable consistency and is great for making copies of life casts where changes are needed. Because of its malleability right out of the container, the soft grade is ideal for larger pieces, such as busts. The medium-grade clay is a general-purpose workhorse, excellent for maquette and tabletop figure work. Like every grade, it is ideal for melting and pour copies of life casts directly from alginate molds. The hard grade is recommended for detailed work such as medallions or small figure work. All three grades can be melted and intermixed to create custom blends. Monster Clay's sulfur-free formula is compatible with platinum silicone molding compounds. Individually packaged in convenient, reusable, oven-safe 4.5 lb tubs, it has a lower density than average oil-based clays — which means approximately 25% more clay per pound without the additional cost.
