Walrus Oil Cast Iron Oil is made with 100% natural ingredients, Safflower Oil and Vitamin E. Safflower Oil has one of the highest smoke points of natural oils, making it a superior choice for heat seasoning cast iron pots and pans. Our Cast Iron Oil is an easy wipe-on conditioner that forms a durable, non-stick layer of protection, which builds coats over time with continued use. Easily bring old-rusty cast iron back to life with as little as one or two heat seasoning treatments. It can also be applied without heat to prevent rust to any cast iron surface, including cookware, tools, cast iron table legs, and decor. Our Cast Iron Oil is also NSF Certified, food-contact safe, and suitable for restaurants and commercial kitchens.

Non-Heat Seasoning Instructions

To prevent rust and to maintain cast iron without heat, simply wipe on a coat of Cast Iron Oil until surface is adequately coated, leaving no standing oil behind. For cast iron cookware, it's recommended to reapply after every use to continually build a protective barrier.

Heat Seasoning Instructions

1. Clean cast iron and oven to prevent excessive smoke and fire risk. 2. Preheat oven to 375˚-425˚ degrees Fahrenheit. 400˚ is ideal. You may see light smoke at 425˚-450˚. DO NOT heat above 450˚. 3. Wipe on a thin coat of Cast Iron Oil. Make sure there is no standing oil. 4. Bake the cast iron. When the oven is fully preheated, place an old cookie sheet on the bottom rack to catch any oil that may drip from the cast iron. Place the oiled cast iron dish-side down on the middle rack. Let it bake for 30 minutes to 1 hour minimum. Crack the oven door open during the entire baking time. Closely monitor for safety. 5. Cool Down. Once the desired bake time has passed, turn off the oven and leave cast iron to cool off. Use caution as you would when cooking food. Call fire department during an emergency.

Store in a cool, dry place. Keep container sealed when not in use. For best results, use within 1 year after opening. With proper storage, product can remain effective for 2+ years.
